　　城中掀起一阵选美风，许多妙龄女孩都争相尝试，梁好逑（郑裕玲 饰）和连子蓉（叶童 饰）正是其中两个女孩。梁好逑和连子蓉原本互不认识，在参加香港小姐的过程中相识，并都渴望能够一举成名过上富足的生活。比赛过程中，各大媒体争相报道，一时之间她们成了家喻户晓的人物，眼见梦想的生活越来越近，岂料颁奖当晚二人都落选。比赛结束，两人的生活确实因此发生了改变，却是与她们的想象背道而驰：连子蓉先是遭到男友抛弃，后又被公司同事讥诮愤而离职。此时只有同病相怜的梁好逑收留她，两人成为密友。某日，一个英俊潇洒的男人（王敏德 饰）出现在两人的生活中，打破了原有的平静……
