《The Day Of The Triffids》这本科幻小说在国内有许多种译名。可不管它叫什么名字，略有资历的科幻读者肯定读过，因为它是较早引入我国并译成中文的科幻小说之一。该小说由科幻作家John Wyndham创作，最早发表于1951年，是灾难类科幻作品的代表作之一。上世纪80年代，BBC曾将其搬上电视银屏，在观众中的反响不错。如今时隔20多年，BBC再次将其改编成两集迷你剧，并将于12月28日、29日播出。新版《三脚树时代》由Dougray Scott、Joely Richardson、Brian Cox、Vanessa Redgrave、Eddie Izzard和Jason Priestley主演。
